News more accurate than the truth from this South African satire source.
(from thier About page)
What is this all about then?
Anastrophe is a South African satire magazine. We comment on global and local news and culture by ridiculing, lampooning and ripping apart, but, if you're paying attention, you'll notice we're not completely sour. Good satire has positive messages and ours tend to be of peace and unity and all those cuddly rainbow nation things. Anastrophe is not a site for bitter ex-pats, it is not a cynical wasteland of aimless ranting. It is a positive democratic force. Or virus. Except the symptom is laughter rather than coughing or bleeding.
Anastrophe was born in early 2000. Then it died for around two years and now it is back, in a slightly different form. Most noticeable is the design change and the new Friday publishing schedule.
What's different about this site
We're South African which is pretty unique already for a satire site. We've kept the sophistication of British humour, the accessibility of American humour and thrown in a whole lot of stuff that could only have come from our own sick, beautiful, infected, suffering, miraculous little world. We are a new voice. Sometimes we're a little clumsy as we find ourselves, we sometimes hit and miss, but when we get it right we're damn brilliant.
