Was created in 2002 in reaction to the abandonment of Gagpipe. Gagpipe was a pretty clear idea founded to amass satire headlines from around the net and compile them into one tidy place. It was great and pioneering but largely abandoned as time had riddled it with bugs.
Unlike Gagpipe which often took days or weeks to add headlines to, Satire Search updated headlines as often as every fifteen minutes. Satire Search took it the extra mile and offered daily email newsletters and a wide variety of headline feeders that could be added to anyone's website.
Satire Search was so successful, both because it made use of the most progressive web technologies and also because it helped bring together satire webmakers into a tighter-knit community.
